How are my gifts used?

A gift to the Auburn Public Library Fund is an unrestricted contribution and goes immediately to where it is needed most in the given year. Gifts to the APL Fund are used to purchase books, to provide an ever-increasing array of programs and workshops, and to meet the Library's immediate needs. It is important to note that gifts to the APL Fund are spent in the year that they are received.

Is a gift to the APL Fund tax deductable?

The Auburn Public Library is an independent, 501(c)(3) charitable organization. As such, all gifts to the Auburn Public Library are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

In fiscal year 2009-2010, The APL Fund raised more than $50,000 to support the services and programs of the Auburn Public Library. This includes gifts from our annual fundraising drive, special events (our English Tea and used Book Sales) and grants from corporations, foundations and community organizations.
