Collection services is where it all begins for library materials. The collection services department orders new materials, makes sure they can be found in our onilne catalog, and prepares them for the shelves. We are constantly looking at library materials to ensure that the items on the shelf are items that have great interest to our customers.

The Collection Services Department:

• Places orders and processes new materials
• Enters material into our online catalog
• Ensures that material is easy to find in the catalog and on the shelf.
• Analyzes use of material and works with selectors to order in demand items
• Weeds and discards material no longer in use
• Maintains our periodical subscriptions
• Maintains our "Coming Soon" service
